Your flaxen hair shines like the straw
    in sunshine out of doors,
like dandelions, goldenrod,
    and signs for slippery floors

Put lemon mustard on bananas,
    corn, and tubs of butter.
Then share it in a school bus with your
    bath-time duck of rubber.

Your xanthic raincoat will protect
    from jaundice-like diseases
that come from eating raw egg yolks
    with certain types of cheeses.

And when you see canaries
    or get stung by honey bees,
then think of citron, daisy hearts,
    and cadmium... and me.
