Calling my soul

to the temple of freedom,

tulips are blooming.

the river said to me.

Shining through you,

the light in your eyes

shines through me.

and, suddenly, guitars everywhere hum

in sympathetic delight.

Thirty-seven trillion cells,

in your body.

One drop becomes

a river, becomes a flood,

becomes the sea.

Sun and moon,

earth and wind and breath,

mind and heart.

I grip mountains
With my roots, my truth
lifting me up.

Trickling, the creek’s
Crickle brings us blessings then
Carries them onward.

Old wood offered
into burning, blazing, smoke, ashes,
New green life.

I breathe you
Breathe the air where we
All share breath.

Mind beyond thought
Connecting, extending, expanding, reaching into
Space between space.

Who am I?
Son of Man? Of God?
I choose light.
